Drum and Bass | Dubstep | EDM
Drum & Bass has grown since its conception that ties in with the early rave scene at the late end of the 20th century, and is still ever expanding into new areas with hundreds of artists and DJs out there trying to make their mark on the scene. One such artist is Sam Gartside, better known as Altered Perception; a 20 year old electronic producer from the North London area (although currently based in Leeds).
Having established an independent drum and bass label, Terabyte Records, with ex-schoolmate and producer Auzi, this EP represents a debut for all parties. This release perfectly demonstrates the original, cutting edge style that Terabyte is all about, and so far has support from major players in the industry including Stunna, Danny Wheeler, and Mufler, Stanza.
The A-Side, 'Holographic Universe', approaches the genre from a fresh angle – combining ambient synths and melodies with rolling beats and intelligently designed bass patterns;
its syncopated bass and percussive rhythms complement tunes of any style of drum and bass, making it one for the DJs too.
The B-Side, 'Take It Back', is a dirty roller with a hard hitting drum beat utilizing innovative percussive elements and a growling sub bass; sure to get any crowd skanking out.
With many other releases in the pipelines, Terabyte Records is all about new talent and new style, and TB001 will be featured on all the big digital stores (i.e. DNBArena,
Juno, Beatport etc.) so look out for it and give it a listen!
