MAC 2 - The Crossfire EP Presented by DJ Randall

Jungle legend Randall is proud to bring to you the latest release from his prestigious Mac 2 recordings, The Crossfire EP, a selection of various flavours right across the liquid Drum and Bass spectrum.

Infusing distorted vocals and smooth, swinging Amen breaks, the first offering Hibernation from producers LJ High & Seathasky captivates the listener and pulls them into the dark abyss of bass, preparing the audience for the fluid sounds of the EP. Sirens alert your attention to the urgency of the track and remain constant throughout this energetic roller as if the listener has awakened from a deep hibernating sleep.

Next up, Feel Me Gone by Physics is heavily influenced by Blues and Jazz because of its sweet mellifluous piano layers and dripping emotive vocals reminiscent of early Hospital Records tracks. The feel good atmosphere to the track will make it perfect for the festival season and summer time listening with its vibrant melodies and dynamic drum patterns.

Jem One’s The Day After is dark, atmospheric and brooding, changing the feel to the EP that was invoked by the first two tracks. Echoing the scientific feel in Hibernation, the icy ambience mesmerises the crowd and whistles in the air. When the track forefronts the kick snare after a brief silence, the tempo increases and it becomes a static roller with ominous undertones.

The fourth and final track on The Crossfire EP is the beautiful and illuminating Truth from Jaybee. A smooth and light dance floor filler with snippets of female vocals and soothing synths that complete the listening experience of this EP in the same way it started, with a soft and warm comforting bass and as if some sort of realisation has taken place. The Crossfire EP is sure to dominate download charts across the genre, taking the listener on a journey of musical discovery.
