Bio:
Born and reared in the once dominant music metropolis of Detroit, Michigan — home of the Motown sound, a young Opus X had little trouble finding partners in rhythm and rhyme. Growing up in a musical household, and being a classically trained musician himself, Opus X was afforded the unique opportunity to be exposed to many diverse forms of music and styles. As a result he grew to respect and appreciate all musical genres.

During the early 1990’s Opus X became increasing fascinated with electronic music, and started doing DJ sets in small venues throughout the central United States. In 2001 he seemingly burst onto the USA drum and bass scene out of nowhere, and in a short period of time was considered one of the premier drum and bass DJs. However, it wouldn’t be until 2006 that Opus X would try his hand at composing and producing his own original drum and bass material. A year later he released his first single, “Manic Ascension,” on the fledgling Trip Marks The Hop label, which instantly became an underground scene favorite.

To date Opus X has released three CDs, “In The Beginning: Old Skool Drum and Bass;” “In The Beginning: Remixes & Then Some;” and his latest, “Scorpion,” featuring the club smash, “Horizons,” and the chart topper, “We Sting Too!” In many circles Opus X is credited with being one of the pioneers in the evolution of modern drum and bass music, particularly in the United States.
