ok.. folks with only a week or so to go till the closing date of the first competition.. and I have had no entries at all SO.. just as I suspected their isn't an awful lot of interest .. but you don't know till you try do ya? so I'm gonna leave it until the end of the weekend and if we're still in the same state of affairs I'll delete the topic .. maybe have a rethink .. any suggestions would handy ...… More..

After a request yesterday from Kinderellazero and checking with the big man in charge of the site...



I have decided to give a remix competition a go. The idea behind this competition is to have a little fun. There is no millions in prize money to be given away but merely the kudos of having your track chosen.. The competition is open to all members of the Music Box Group... and if there's a lot of interest competitions may become regular fixture… More..

I was thinking of Ableton Live myself it seems like the best option, also the fact you can Dj with it is interesting me. I'm not too bothered about it being alot to learn as all the best packages are a little daunting to start with ( I still remember the first time I opened Reason, that feeling of 'I'm never gonna get my head round this' But the second a nice sound comes out of it I'm more than willing to learn it inside out).

Do you just use Ableton or do you have other DAW's ?

Mate I use Reason 4 and it's just a nightmare for remixing. I am at the point where I want to learn a new package, something centered more around wave editing and remixing. Are there any DAW's you'd suggest? On a different note check out "R&R" on my player I think you'll like ;)
