Bio:
Dj dubsta started out as raver during the early days of hardcore, progressing into jungle. Going to the early Telepathy, World Dance, Elevation, Roast and other events which inspired him to start Dj'ing himself. Dubsta only kept dj'ing as an hobbie during the early days as raving was he's real passion.

"My first taste of jungle was from my local record shop (De Underground) in Forest Gate....It was run by Mikey D or as he was known mikey de underground, hence the name of the shop Mikey D was the older of two brothers....The younger one being Cool Hand Flex, a well known jungle dj and producer (melody madness, feel it, six million ways to die).....I became quite friendly with Flex when they was burgled i lent them my decks as thiers had been stolen. I started getting some good tunes from the shop, proper up-front stuff, promos and test presses....i had one of the first copys of "the box" on test press........And i wasnt even on a radio station!!!!"

As the music progressed into todays Drum n Bass Dubsta turned his attention to promotion and started to put own his own event called "Sum'Ting Major". He put on fairly successful events in Essex and East London using mainly up and coming djs and a few headliners such as Rhythm Beater (cutterz choice record label) and Icandy (koollondon.com). Dubsta took a break from the dnb scene around 2004 due to work and family commitments, although he still listened to the pirates and attended the odd event.

"After the "sum'ting Major" raves stopped i slowed down with the dnb scene, i still went raving now and then and always locked into the pirates, but i stopped buying vinly and gradually the technics went into storage....It wasnt planned it just sort of subsided over time......work and family commitments had taken presidence over dj'ing and promoting......During this time i still knew one day i'd get back into the scene, so it was just a break....albeit a 7 year break"

In early 2011 Dj Dubsta returned to the scene after his 7 year break from the dj'ing .....The passion for dnb never went away. Since he's return he has played at Preception (brighton), Fully Loaded (oxford) and has a residency at Liquid Bass (Lewisham, south London) Reformed (oxfordshire), Reformed London (shoreditch, east london) as well as running his own event Composure (shoreditch, east london). Dubsta plays guest shows on various stations mainly to promote up-coming events...Also competition winner to play at OVERLOAD, Mc EKSMANS birthday bash (sat 4th august @ fire n lightbox).....And of course now each and every sunday 2pm-4pm on globaldnb......Playing liquid dnb.

Dj Dubsta is hard working, reliable and focussed as a dj...playing all over the Uk. He is highly versatile in genres.....Playing liquid, jump up or tech....also can play old skool 91-93-ish.
